Gyeongbokgung Night Viewing Walk-In Tickets for Foreign Visitors in 2026
Foreign visitors can buy one of 300 daily walk-in tickets for Gyeongbokgung's 2026 fall night viewing, with a two-ticket limit and foreigner ID.
Who Can Buy a Walk-In Ticket?
The official 2026 fall notice reserves 300 same-day on-site tickets per viewing day for foreign visitors. One person may buy no more than two. This is a daily sales cap, not a reserved allotment for every person who arrives.
Bring a passport or another official ID that proves foreign nationality. The ticket office may check the document before selling the ticket. A photo or unsupported copy may not be accepted, so carry the original document you normally use for official identification.
When Should You Arrive?
The fall night-viewing period runs from September 2 through October 2, 2026, with no night viewing on Mondays or Tuesdays. Viewing hours are 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the final entry cutoff is 8:30 p.m.
Go to the Gwanghwamun-side ticket area early enough to find the foreign-visitor line and present ID. The 8:30 p.m. cutoff does not mean tickets will remain until then. Once the 300-ticket daily supply sells out, walk-in admission can end earlier.
Do Not Build the Evening Around a Guaranteed Ticket
Reopen the official notice on the day you visit because weather, palace operations or event rules can change. Staff at the palace makes the final admission decision. The Korea Heritage Service English site is the official starting point for current heritage information.
For the surrounding route, use the historic Seoul palace-area guide. Before the late return, save the last-subway backup guide and the arrival and transport problem hub.
